These terms apply when you use the LydraCare app and website, operated by LYDRA Inc., Calgary, Alberta, Canada ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use LydraCare. Questions: support@lydracare.com.
1. What LydraCare is
LydraCare helps seniors, caregivers and family members organise medications, appointments, reminders and daily check-ins, and keep a family circle informed. It is a reminder and organising tool. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always follow your doctor's and pharmacist's instructions, and check anything you enter against them.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the app.
- Give accurate information and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has access.
- You can sign in with your email and password or with Google.
- One person, one account. Do not share your login. Family members and caregivers should join through an invite instead.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings, then Delete Account).
3. Caregivers, seniors and family members
- Setting up a senior: a caregiver who creates a profile for a senior confirms they have that person's permission to do so and to enter their information. The senior can open the invite and take over the account as their own, and can choose who sees their information.
- Leaving or deleting: if a caregiver deletes their account, profiles the senior has not yet claimed are deleted. A senior who has claimed their account keeps it.
- Family Circle: the owner chooses what each family member can see (check-ins, medications, appointments, alerts, exercise) and can change this or remove a member at any time. You are responsible for who you invite.
- Invites: an invite link or code is valid for 24 hours and never signs anyone in by itself. The invited person must enter the invited email, and the person who invited them must approve the request. Approve only people you know.
- Other people's information: if you can see someone else's information through the app, use it only to help care for them. Do not share it or use it for any other purpose.
4. Reminders, alerts and the SOS button
Reminders and alerts depend on things we do not control: your phone, its battery and settings, your internet connection, and the services that deliver notifications. They can fail or arrive late. Do not rely on LydraCare as your only way to take medicine, keep an appointment or reach help.
- A dose with no answer 30 minutes after its time is shown as missed, and a missed-dose alert goes to caregivers and family members who have been given the Medications permission. If the dose is then marked taken, they get a "taken late" follow-up. Missed-appointment alerts also go out after a delay. You can still mark a missed dose as taken or skip it; check with your pharmacist if you are unsure whether to take it.
- The SOS button opens your own list of emergency contacts so you can call them quickly. It does not contact emergency services or any contact for you.
- Alerts you send to your Family Circle (such as "Medical emergency" or "I fell") need location access: the app attaches your current location as a map link, and if you do not allow location the alert is not sent. They are notifications and are not guaranteed to be seen.
- In an emergency, call your local emergency number first.
5. Plans, free trial and subscriptions
- Free trial: new caregivers get a free trial of the Plus plan (currently 7 days, no card needed).
- Plans: Basic and Plus differ in how many seniors you can care for and how many family members each senior can have. The limits shown in the app and in the store apply.
- Payment: subscriptions are bought and paid through Google Play or the Apple App Store, monthly or yearly. They renew automatically until you cancel in your store account. Prices are shown in the store before you buy.
- Cancelling and refunds: cancel in Google Play or the App Store. Deleting your LydraCare account does not cancel a subscription. Refunds follow the store's rules, because the store handles the payment.
- If your plan ends or is full: seniors beyond what your plan allows are locked until you upgrade or free a place. Your data is not deleted because of this.
- Only the caregiver's plan is paid for. Seniors and family members use the app for free.
6. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the app. In particular, do not:
- try to break, probe or overload our security or systems;
- access another person's account or data without their permission;
- enter information about someone who has not agreed to it;
- send spam, abuse or harass others, including through birthday notes or invites;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the app, or use automated tools to access it;
- use the app for anything unlawful.
7. Your information
You own the information you enter. You give us permission to store and process it only so we can run LydraCare for you and the people you choose to share it with. How we handle it is described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Third-party services
LydraCare uses services from others, such as Google (sign-in and address search), Google Play and Apple (app distribution and payments), and notification and email providers. Their own terms apply to those services, and we are not responsible for their outages or changes.
9. Availability, changes and ending use
We try to keep the service running but cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change, add or remove features. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk, and we will tell you why where we can. You may stop using LydraCare at any time.
10. No warranty and limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, LydraCare is provided "as is" and "as available" without promises about accuracy or uninterrupted service, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for harm caused by missed, late or incorrect reminders, alerts or notifications, or by information entered incorrectly. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law that cannot be limited, or liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Courts in Alberta can hear disputes, unless the law of the place where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date above shows the latest version. For important changes we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using LydraCare after that, you accept the new terms.
